Join the Shelvium adventure

Give 3 hours a week, make a lasting impact

With Shelvium, every volunteer contributes to inventing inclusive, ethical, and open technology

Wherever you are, there is a mission for you

    • Want to put your energy into something that actually changes lives? At Shelvium, we need people like you to build a strong community and bring AxiO—a unique assistive technology—to life.

    • No need to be an engineer or an expert: if you’ve got time, ideas, and motivation, you’re already a perfect fit.

  • Being a Shelvium volunteer isn’t just about “helping an organization”:

    • You’ll join an international project with real social impact.

    • You’ll gain hands-on skills in comms, project management, networking, or even tech.

    • You’ll grow your personal and professional network.

    • And most importantly: you’ll see the direct impact of your involvement on the daily lives of people with disabilities or older adults.

    • Spread the word: manage our Insta & Facebook accounts, create content, share campaigns.

    • Build connections: reach out to associations, NGOs, and local community groups and get them on board.

    • Organize events: local meetups, launch campaigns, press outreach.

    • Grow the community: welcome new members, answer questions, keep the momentum alive.

    • Bring new ideas: suggest fresh ways to boost communication or organize smarter.

Everyone brings their own strengths, and together we make it work.

  • It’s super flexible:

    • A few hours a week if that’s what you’ve got,

    • Or more if you want to step up and take bigger responsibilities.

We adapt to you—as long as you’re consistent enough to keep things moving.

    • In Miami, we meet regularly at the association's headquarters.
Every Friday evening, a friendly dinner is offered by the association: we work, we eat, we chat.

    • And for the rest, we collaborate online (simple tools, accessible to all).

    • Shelvium may be a nonprofit, but we run things professionally.
Our vision: turn many volunteer roles into paid positions as we grow and secure funding.

👉 In other words: volunteering with us is also a way to open the door to a real job tomorrow.
